Automated Trash and Recycling Considered
City of Nampa is considering an automated (cart) method of trash and recycling collection. Each household would receive one blue recycling cart and one gray trash recycling cart with basic service. The wheeled carts would be serviced by clean-burning compressed natural gas trucks.
Cart Benefits:
- Residents will have the option of choosing between a 48, 65, or 95 gallon wheeled cart for trash and recycling.
- Residential trash and recycling service would remain unlimited; customers would fill their carts first and place any overflow trash in trash cans for collection.
- Residents would no longer have to sort items for recycling.
- Residents could keep or return their blue recycling bins.
