Trash collection in Meridian is fully automated
You have your choice of 32-gallon, 65-gallon, or 95-gallon cart service. The cost of the service increases with the cart size. Place the front of the wheeled cart on the edge of the curb - not in the gutter - at least 3 feet from the nearest car, fence, or mailbox, and free of overhead obstacles such as trees and basketball hoops, by 7:00 a.m. on your collection day.
Trash is collected weekly. You can only put out the amount of items that fit inside the trash carts with the lids closed. Personal trash cans, boxes, bags, or loose items will not be serviced or collected .Please place animal waste in a plastic bag before placing it in the cart. Our drivers cannot collect tires, household hazardous waste, liquids, lithium batteries, analog television sets, non-flat screen computer monitors, and any items containing Freon at the curb.
You can rent additional trash carts for a small fee each month per cart. Residents can also request a special collection for large items that do not fit inside the wheeled carts. There is a charge for this service.
Curbside recycling is voluntary in Meridian. Recycling carts are provided free of charge to Meridian residents. Participating in the curbside recycling program can help lessen the amount of trash you throw out, thus lowering your trash bill in addition to helping the environment.
Recycling is included in your trash service, and is the best way to lower your service costs since the less trash you throw out, the smaller trash cart you need.
