Recycling up 141% in Eagle!
Tons Recycled Soar Thanks to No-Sort Program
Eagle City residents have taken advantage of the opportunity to recycle more using the blue, no-sort carts (95-, 65- and 48-gallon sizes). Recycling tons have increased steadily since the carts hin the streets in April - climbing from 46.5 tons in March to 112 tons in August. Bravo, Eagle residents!
The entire Eagle community quickly adapted to the every-other-week collection schedule, recycling more than ever before with reports of little contamination (less than 5 %) from the recycling center where the materials are processed.
Roughly 75% of our household waste can be recycled or composted. So, next trash/recycling day, ask yourself if 3/4 of the material at the curb is in the blue cart! Based on the numers we are seeing, you are well on your way!
Moving forward, please remember these tips:
1. Recycling collection is Every-Other-Week.
2. Look under your recycling cart lid to determine whether you are an ORANGE or BLUE customer. Once you know, please refer to the recycling collection calendar in your handour materials (Click Here for Calendar). The recycling calendar will outline all of your collection weeks for the entire year.
3. Use the decal under your recycling cart lid to help identify what can and cannot be recycled.
